KCK to Turkish government: End repression

In a statement the KCK presidential council points out that the violence by Turkish government must end

In a written statement on the most recent developments concerning the Kurdish problem, Kurdish Communities Union (KCK) Executive Council Presidency responded to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s statements which pointed to PKK’s laying down arms as the only solution to the Kurdish issue. “The only way to solution is not PKK’s laying down arms, but the Turkish state’s ending its repressive policies in Kurdistan and recognizing the incontestable rights of the people of Kurdistan. Referring to Erdoğan’s statement “They will inevitably lay down arms”, KCK evaluated this statement as a repetition of former Prime Minister Tansu Çiller and others’ slogans defending the same idea. The KCK statement remarked that this insistence points to an intention to obtain a result by means of bloodshed and war.
